Nutty Brown Cafe & Ampitheater

This is Austin, Texas...performing capital of the world, and it takes Austin songwriters to write the songs that make Austin music what it is. Be-Bob-Alooza 2012 is a community event to be held Sept. 30th from 5 to 10pm at Nutty Brown Cafe. 12225 W. Hwy 290. The proceeds will go to an Austin singer/songwriter who will be chosen by a panel of Austin music professionals based on the following set of criteria: the singer/songwriter must be a career minded, in-the-trenches, regularly performing artist who has a history of personal investment in his/her art in the Austin music scene. Documentation will be needed to show that their CD project is somewhere in the pipeline either approaching or actually in the recording, manufacturing and/or promotion/marketing stage with a plan to release the album either by the end of this year or early next year. They will also need to complete the questionnaire below and submit three mp3 versions of songs either already recorded for the project or that they plan to record. The winner will be announced the evening of the show, and we are counting on the Austin community of singer/songwriters and supporters thereof to help us turn this into a wonderful Austin event.
The $10 door charge money along with the proceeds from the silent auction will go to the winner. Last year, we sold out Threadgills North with performances by a baker’s dozen of Austin’s hardest working singer/songwriters. This year we are expecting to triple the size of the event having enlisted the help of “headliners” Kevin Welch, Walt Wilkins and his Mystiqueros along with a couple more acts on my wish yet to be determined. See below for a complete list of other performers.
Be-Bob-Alooza is part of the non-profit organization Over-A-Cheevers,Inc. which will pay the money to a studio, CD manufacturer, record promoter, publicist and/or other vendors associated with the record making process to assure that it goes toward the cost of the project only.
We are counting on the Austin community of singer/songwriters and supporters thereof to help us turn this into a wonderful Austin event.
